The KIA Summer Slam came to a close today in Port Elizabeth as local and foreign players had to adapt to very trying windy conditions, with those being able to adapt their game to suit the elements driving away with the title.

In both divisions the top seeds were facing off for the title.

Women’s top seeds, Maire Bray (FRA) & Nina Djordjeciv (SRB) defeated second seeds Elodie Naegellen (FRA) & Vanessa Ridolfo (FRA) 62 76(3)

In very gust conditions and less than idea for anything other than kite surfing, the men tried to adapt their game to the wind, with the top seeds Theo Irigaray (FRA) & Mattia Spoto (ITA) coming back from a set down to defeat the second seeds Manuel Ringlstetter (GER) & Gerard Rodriguez Querol (ESP) 57 64 63

The circuit now heads down the road to Cape St. Francis for more exciting beach tennis action to be seen at Cape St. Francis Resort and Quayside from 10 to 12 December.
