KIA Summer Slam Winners in PE Adopt a Penguin
9 Dec 2019 by Iain Smith
Both winning teams of the PE leg of the KIA Summer Slam were in for a treat, when part of the prize was also adopting an African Penguin, courtesy of SANCCOB Seabird Centre.
The men’s team named their penguin ‘Niki-giada’, while the ladies named theirs ‘Buddy’.
SANCCOB’s primary objective is to reverse the decline of seabird populations through the rescue, rehabilitation and release of ill, injured, abandoned and oiled seabirds – especially endangered species like the African penguin.
Special thank you to SANCCOB for this unique gesture and we wish the new parents all the best….
Next stop, Cape St. Francis Resort and St. Francis (Quayside Restaurant).
